Colourful crew: Lady Gaga blends in with her little Taiwanese fans as she is welcomed to the country by a stripey bunch of children
She is known for her outlandish and colourful outfits.
But Lady Gaga was given a run for her money yesterday in the fashion stakes - by a group of children.
The pop star was in Taiwan, her first visit to the country, as part of her tour of the Far East, and was greeted by the youngsters at a welcoming ceremony.
The indigenous children, who come from the Tai Ya tribe in eastern Taiwan, looked adorable in their red stripey outfits, blue shorts and headbands as they arrived to celebrate 'Lady Gaga Day'.

Just dance: Gaga waved her hands ion delight as the children showed off their moves
But it was their faces that made them really stand out as they showed off painted on beards in a criss cross pattern.
The singer, dressed in a red trouser suit with leopard print arms, matching bag and towering heels, looked delighted with her welcome party as they children danced and sang for her at the ceremony.
You're so cute: The pop star looked rather taken with the children
The ceremony, which took place in Taichung, saw the singer presented with a key to the city by Mayor Jason Hu, a brush painting of herself by local artist Chen Hua, and a dance presentation by the group of children.
She was also presented with a necklace from the children and said the gifts were 'so overwhelmingly, thoughtful and generous.'
She added: 'I will cherish them forever and I will always remember today. I would just like to tell you that you did a beautiful job in that performance. And you are so young and full of life.'
Our gift to you: A little boy gets a hug from the singer after he gives her a necklace
Little Monsters: Gaga and her new fans huddle in together for a group hug
The 25-year-old is in Taiwan for five days and last night she performed for 6,000 people at Taichung City's Fulfillment Amphitheater.
Today she was presented with more gifts and yet another warm welcome as she arrived in Taipei.
She was awarded a specially presented three disc souvenir of her new album Born This Way and a hand-painted paper lantern from 90-year-old folk art maestro Wu Dun-hou, which was adorned with a dragon, a colorful map of Taiwan and words of blessing.

Set to wed? Ashley Cole has apparently vowed to remarry ex-wife Cheryl, seen here on her 28th birthday on Friday night, just nine months after their divorce
Ashley Cole has declared his intention to marry Cheryl Cole again... just nine months after they divorced.
His announcement followed Cheryl's 28th birthday party on Friday night when the couple were seen kissing in front of friends and family – including the X Factor judge's still-disapproving mother.
Ashley rekindled his romance with the Girls Aloud star three months ago, the Daily Mail can reveal.
Still in love: Ashley and Cheryl have apparently been seeing each other again for the last three months
Their secret affair had started well before Cheryl made her ill-fated bid to crack America on The X Factor USA.
And on Saturday night, Ashley was seen heading back to the newly-blonde singer's hotel to spend the night with her.
Last night, the Chelsea footballer, 30, told friends: 'I'm going to marry Cheryl again, it's what we both want.'
Trying to hide: Ashley concealed himself behind the seat of his car as he was driven away from Cheryl's party
A source close to the footballer told the Mail: 'It was no secret that Cheryl's mind was not on The X Factor – Simon Cowell even said as much.
'Ash made it clear to all his friends that he wanted to win Cheryl back and they've been properly in touch for the past six months, meeting at his brother Matty's house.
'They've spent so many evenings together, it was all like a covert operation.
'There was a kiss here and there, but things got a little bit more intimate just before Cheryl went to America.'
Happy again: A smiling and newly-blonde Cheryl Cole arrives the Sanderson Hotel in London for her 28th birthday party
Back in the limelight: The pop singer strode confidently into the hotel in a white Sixties-style dress and high-heeled sandals
Birthday girl: Cheryl looked excited as she cuts her elaborate birthday cake
After the £20,000 bash at London's Sanderson hotel, Cole was seen to head upstairs to his ex-wife's £1,000-a-night penthouse suite at the hotel.
Contrary to reports, Cheryl's mother Joan Callaghan, 51, is not happy about the reunion.
The friend added: 'The only big opposition is Joan, she's really depressed about this.'

Bride and joy? Prince Albert keeps his emotions firmly in check as Princess Charlene sheds a tear at their wedding in Monaco
The new Princess Charlene of Monaco tried to flee home to South Africa three times before her ‘arranged marriage’ to Prince Albert, it was alleged yesterday.
The former Charlene Wittstock, 33, reportedly made her first escape attempt when she travelled to Paris in May to try on her wedding dress.
During the visit, she ‘took refuge’ in her country’s embassy in the French capital, sources in Monaco said.

Tears: Princess Charlene dabs her eyes with a handkerchief on two different occasions during Saturday's wedding
The allegations, which are surprising considering she went ahead with the wedding on Saturday, emerged in the French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.
It went on to report that later in May, Charlene made a second apparent attempt to escape during the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Escape: Sources in Monaco have suggested that Charlene Wittstock attempted to go to the South African embassy in Paris and leave the principality during its Grand Prix
Then, last week, royal officials are said to have confiscated her passport en route to Nice airport via the helicopter service that runs between the Mediterranean principality and France. She was then persuaded to go on with the marriage.
‘Several sources have confirmed that an arrangement was reached between the future bride and groom,’ reported Le Journal du Dimanche.
Sources said the Monaco palace had hoped the glitzy wedding – attended by a host of celebrities and European royalty – would ‘overshadow’ new claims about secret children fathered by Albert.
Spectacular: A general view of fireworks during the festivities which took place after the religious ceremony
Sealed with a kiss: The couple kiss as they leave the church and are due to go on honeymoon to South Africa this week
Instead, Charlene was in floods of tears at one point, while her 53-year-old husband looked on impassively.
Meanwhile, the reception that followed provoked ridicule with tacky features such as a giant wedding cake that towered over the couple and a mirrored dance floor.
Among the guests were Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, actor Roger Moore and Topshop boss Sir Philip Green and his wife, Tina.
Tomorrow the couple are due to fly to South Africa on honeymoon, presenting Charlene with her best chance yet of ‘escaping’ Monaco.
A tender kiss: The new Princess Charlene shares a kiss with her Prince after they are pronounced husband and wife

With this ring, I thee wed: Charlene places a 18-carat white gold platinum rings by Cartier on the Prince's finger
Mixed emotions: Princess Charlene seemed both glum and pleased as she walked down the aisle with her new husband as the crowds rushed to scatter rose petals on the newly-weds
If an ‘arrangement’ has been reached, however, it may be that Charlene’s principal aim will be to produce a legitimate heir for Albert in return for a multi-millionaire lifestyle.
The prince is due to undergo DNA tests because of claims that he has fathered a third, and possibly even a fourth, love child.
He already has a six-year-old son named Alexandre through Togolese former air hostess Nicole Coste, and a 19-year-old daughter, Jazmin, with Tamara Rotolo, an American estate agent.
Let us pray: The couple kneel at the altar during their service
Both illegitimate children were kept away from Albert’s wedding to avoid ‘media exposure’, a palace official told Le Journal du Dimanche.
But he also revealed that one of Charlene’s first duties in her new role would be to stand by Albert during another scandal related to his chequered private life.
‘The truth of the rumour is that Albert faces paternity tests following a claim by at least one former lover,’ said the source.
Striking: Charlene's bridesmaid carries her long train as the couple leave the wedding mass
Spectacular, spectacular: The VIPs, royals and dignitaries crowed into the main courtyard for the lavish wedding mass
None of Albert’s illegitimate brood will have a claim to the throne.
The official said: ‘Albert will not have an official heir until Princess Charlene bears him one.’
There was not enough time to organise DNA tests before the wedding, but the source said they would go ahead in the next few days.
Elegant in white: The white silk gown designed by Giorgio Armani fell beautifully over her flawless figure
The French magazine Public has attributed ‘two new illegitimate children’ to Albert. One is said to be the 18-month-old son of an Italian woman who is preparing to tell all.
Others, including Voici magazine, have suggested Miss Coste could have had a second baby by Albert – an idea that gained credibility last week when the 40-year-old beauty was pictured in Monte Carlo.

Having a ball: Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri cooled off in the swimming pool as the temperature hit 32C in Miami yesterday. The pair were there celebrating Tom Cruise's 49th birthday
It hit 32C yesterday in Miami so it was no wonder Katie Holmes and daughter Suri were quick to jump in the pool and cool off as they celebrated Tom Cruise's 49th birthday over the weekend.
Both Katie and little Suri donned their bikinis as they arrived for the surprise birthday party, with five-year-old Suri also sporting face paint as she played with a beach ball with her mother.
However, while Suri looked girly in her pink two-piece, mother Katie showed off her noticeably slimmer frame in her navy bikini.
Drying off: The pair dry off after their pool party and ball game
With her abdominal muscles bulging and hip bones slightly protruding, there was hardly an inch to pinch on the star.
Parading her flat stomach, the actress also flaunted her protruding belly button and paler complexion.
Earlier, the former Dawson's Creek star was forced to roll her tracksuit pant bottoms over to avoid them slipping off her shrinking frame.
She paired the look with a peach coloured t-shirt, flats and a straw beach bag.
In shape: Joining his wife poolside was the birthday boy himself Tom, who stripped off down to boardshorts for his swim, handing his son Connor his shirt
Camera ready: Exposing his buff body, Tom showed off the results of working out hard to prepare for his current role of shirtless rocker Stacee Jaxx in Rock Of Ages, which he is currently filming in the Florida city
The dressed down attire was not only hardly suitable for the occasion but swamped Katie's tiny frame.
Later she had later changed into a polka dot sundress.
Joining his wife poolside was the birthday boy himself, Tom, who stripped off down to boardshorts for his swim, handing son Connor his shirt.

Daddy's girl: Earlier he walked hand in hand with the couple's six-year-old daughter Suri, who had had her face painted in a butterfly design
Leading the way: Little Suri grabbed her father's hand and lead her father down the stairs
Painted faces: Suri had her face painted several times with different designs including this floral pattern

Earlier he walked hand in hand with the couple's six-year-old daughter Suri, who had had her face painted in a butterfly design.
Throughout the day, the little girl had a ball as she had several designs applied to her face.
It may have been Tom's birthday, but it appeared that Katie was the one getting spoiled on his big day.
Happy Birthday... to me? Katie sported some very large new bling on her wedding finger
The actress was also sporting some very large new bling on her wedding finger where she usually wears her oval-shaped diamond engagement ring.
The ring, which featured several pave diamonds on its wide band, was paired with Katie's platinum wedding band.
Katie chose the Soho Beach House Miami Hotel for Tom's party where all of his children, Suri, Isabella and Connor were all in attendance.
The extended family along with the 40-strong guest-list dined on an Italian meal and finished it off with some chocolate cake as dessert.
Katie was all smiles as she arrived at the bash and wore her complexion make-up free.

Excited about the festivities, the mother-of-one broke into dance, moving to the beat of some Caribbean music as she arrived for the party.
Tom, dressed in a white shirt and a fedora hat sat contently at the table as he kept a close eye on Suri who was playing with a beach ball nearby.
Ever the fashionista, the six-year-old wore a grey striped dress paired with her favourite gold heels for the occasion,
She accessorised the look with some blue wayfarers and had painted her fingernails red.
Suri was chatting to another young girl who was in a similar frock in red and grey stripes.
The family also found time to have some fun at the beach.

Connor,Tom's son with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, was seen surfing some waves in the clear blue waters.
The 16-year-old gentlemanly teenager averted his eyes as he came across a female topless swimmer.

Earlier in the week, Katie was back in Los Angeles, where she attended the premiere of her new movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.
Speaking to the LA Times, she said it had been 'a pleasure' working on the movie.
She said: 'This film has great characters and a great family drama happening outside of the scares, which only increase the scares.'
Tom, meanwhile, is undergoing an amazing transformation to play long-haired, tattooed rocker Jaxx in Rock of Ages, which is due for release next year.

Also starring Russell Brand, it tells the story of a girl who arrives in Hollywood at the height of the 1980s rock scene.
It's a very different role for Cruise, and Katie has given her backing to the career departure by revealing that her husband likes to perform at their home.
'Tom is such an amazing performer. Yes, we have music in our house and it’s amazing,' she told Access Hollywood recently.

Rehearsal for the real thing: Kate continued to captivate Canada - young and old alike - as the Royal couple's tour brought them to Quebec
Royal couple show their softer side as they meet young admirers on day four of their visit
The Duchess of Cambridge spoke about her hopes of starting a family when she met the father of a ‘beautiful’ little girl.
Kate had been given a bouquet by Raffaela, two-year-old daughter of British expat David Cheater, 28, during a walkabout in Quebec City.
When Mr Cheater wished the duchess well in her efforts to start a family, she thanked him, saying ‘Yes, I hope to’.
From one troop to another: Prince William showed his softer side as he greeted a group of children
Standing to attention: A line of little boys dressed as British soldiers seem overjoyed to be inspected by the Royal couple
It is the first time Kate has spoken publicly about having children although her husband William said when they got engaged that they would like to have a family.
If she follows royal precedent she could be giving birth to an heir to the throne before April next year. William was born on June 21, 1982 around 11 months after his parents the Prince and Princess of Wales wed in July 1981.
Give us a wave: Kate and William continued their charm offensive as they arrived at the Forts-de-Levis community celebration in Levis, Quebec
And the Queen gave birth to Charles on November 14, 1948, just short of a year after marrying the Duke of Edinburgh on November 20, 1947.
On Day Three of their first foreign tour together, Kate and Wills were to be found in chef’s whites for a cookery lesson.
Meet and greet: The Duke reaches out to a group of admirers, all jostling to catch a glimpse of him
The couple were taken to the Quebec Tourism and Hotel Institute in Montreal and attempted dishes including Lake Brome duck, Îles-de-la-Madeleine lobster, and Charlevoix herb and cranberry encrusted lamb.
William, in particular, appeared to relish the challenge of making a soufflé with the Premier of Quebec, Jean Charest. ‘Is there a time limit? Is it like Ready Steady Cook?’ he asked.
In fact the duke – who tends not to make anything more complicated than shepherd’s pie – got decidedly competitive. When Mr Charest produced the first soufflé of the lesson, brought forward with a flourish by the duchess, Wills quickly whipped his out of the oven and crowed: ‘Much better! This one is mine.’
It's not all adulation: Although the young royals have mostly be welcomed with open arms by Canadians, the faced separatist protesters in Quebec City
He then turned to Mr Charest and rubbed it in with one of those Windsor toe-curling puns typical of his father: ‘If you could rise to the challenge that would be great.’
The duchess seemed to take the lesson more seriously.
Student Theresa Rindress, 23, who demonstrated how to make an amuse-bouche of foie gras on a toasted brioche with apple cider jelly, said: ‘I showed her how to hold the knife and position her hand so that she did not cut herself. She was fantastic. She was very competent with the knife.’
Walkabout: The couple showed no sign of running out of steam on day four of their visit to Canada

All smiles: After yet another outfit change, Kate waves to fans as she and William arrive at Fort Levis
A natural: The Duchess looks completely at ease as she talks to the younger fans who have come out to see her
The couple moved on to Quebec City, where William won warm applause when he gave a short speech totally in French, thanking his audience for its ‘patience with my accent’ and promising to return.
Earlier in the day the couple won over a green-haired punk as they visited a drop-in centre for homeless youths. Pierre, a 24-year-old circus skills student, juggled with cigar boxes during their visit to the Maison Dauphine in Quebec.
William described the juggling as ‘awesome’. Pierre said: ‘I’m not really a big royalist, but it’s special to meet them, a privilege.’
Whirlwind tour: The couple touch down in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, waving to the crowds and Kate accepts another bouquet of flowers from a well-wisher
The Prince and the punk: William congratulates Pierre on his juggling prowess
Flower girl: Kate's bouquet from her young fan. She admitted to one ex-pat that she hoped to start a family soon
